Chelsea Set To Pip Tottenham In Race For Exciting Young Midfielder

|

One piece of transfer speculation that jumps out and demands reporting this morning is the inference that Chelsea are making overtures to bring the Aston Villa midfielder, Jack Grealish, to Stamford Bridge.

According to the popular tabloid publication, the Sun, Chelsea are set to rival Tottenham Hotspur for the signature of the young midfielder.

Before this piece of speculation broke, it was believed that our North London rivals were winning the race to sign a player who impressed in the Championship last season.

A fee of £20 million is mentioned for the player which, in the over-inflated market of today, is a reasonable price.

Our referenced source is also suggesting that the move, by Chelsea, gets the approval of the legend that is John Terry who, last season, was impressed by the skills and attributes displayed by the player as both pushed, unsuccessfully, to get the club promoted.

Although an injection of cash has staved off any thoughts of Aston Villa entering administration, they are realistic to accept a sale may be necessary with our quoted source published the following quote from an unnamed source,

“The new owners do not need to sell players but are aware of Financial Fair Play next season, which is out of their hands.”

Here at Vital Chelsea, we’re all for the possible signing of Grealish, his ability to run with the ball into dangerous areas, his enthusiasm and his all-round skill-set make him an ideal recruit, whilst also adding to the list of home-grown players in the squad.

Also, it’s always a pleasurable experience to put one over Tottenham in the transfer market is it not?

Go for it, Chelsea!
