Chelsea Set To Raid Sarri’s Former Club

|

Speculation, in the past week or so, suggests that Chelsea could be in the market for a right-back.

According to the Italian news vehicle, Calciomercato, Chelsea are keen to acquire the services of the Albanian right-back, Elseid Hysaj.

Now whether it is a direct replacement for the outstanding Cesar Azpilicueta or someone to add extra depth to the squad remains to be seen, or perhaps Maurizio Sarri has ideas relating to moving our current captain back into the heart of the defence.

But the potential new acquisition is no stranger to our boss.

Hysaj, 24-years-of-age, is on the books of our gaffers’ former club, Napoli.

Back in the summer, when Sarri arrived at Stamford Bridge, as the replacement for Antonio Conte, there were mutterings that, having lured Jorginho away from his previous club, Sarri would not be allowed to poach any more of his previous squad.

Now whether that gentleman’s agreement still exists or has lapsed, I guess we could be about to find out.

There could be an interesting few weeks ahead of us.
