Chelsea Striker Could Snub England To Play For Nigeria Claim

|

Seven goals in the last three games, including a hat-trick on Saturday against Wolverhampton Wanderers, has placed Tammy Abraham at the top of the Premier League goal-scoring charts.

It’s fair to say that 21-year-old Tammy is on the crest of a wave and, here at Vital Chelsea, we hope his current run of form can last for several months to come.

However, Tammy could, according to The Times, be faced with a dilemma shortly.

The kind of form Tammy is currently displaying puts him firmly in the limelight and having played a ‘friendly’ international, for England, against Germany, there are hopes that Tammy can become a regular in the England squad.

However, his omission from the recent England squad for the European qualifiers, in the first international break of the new season, may have raised a few eyebrows.

In fact, it has, according to our quoted source, resurrected the possibility that Tammy may decide to switch his international allegiance, having not played in a ‘competitive’ for England to Nigeria for whom he qualifies courtesy of his Nigeria father.

My view is that I hope Gareth Southgate nip this uncertainty in the bud and gives Tammy a run-out in the next ‘competitive’ fixture England play, otherwise it could be a case of our loss and Nigeria’s gain!
