Chelsea Striker Wanted On Loan By Spanish Club

|

An interesting piece of speculation that has appeared in the media this morning suggests that a recent recruit could be set to be leaving Chelsea Football Club.

According to the popular news source, Sky Sports, Olivier Giroud is on the summer wish-list of the Spanish side Atletico Madrid.

Giroud, who joined Chelsea back in January for £15 million and who signed a three-year deal, is wanted by the La Liga club on loan.

After joining Chelsea, in the January transfer window, Giroud went on to make 13 appearances for Chelsea and scored on 3 occasions.

More recently, Giroud was part of the French side that won the World Cup, in Russia, although he failed to score in any of the 7 games he played in.

Now whether Chelsea agree to a loan deal could well depend on the style of football Maurizio Sarri wishes to play at Chelsea, if he doesn’t want to utilize a tall centre-forward who can hold the ball up and who brings others into the play then we could well be waving au revoir to the 31-year-old striker.

But, if that is the case can we ensure we get a fee for the player rather than just add him to the long list of players going out on loan!

Here at Vital Chelsea, we’d be interested to hear your views on the possibility of Giroud exiting Stamford Bridge, are you for or against?
