Chelsea To Add Another Midfielder To The Squad Come January, Surely Not

|

Today, with the January transfer window getting nearer by the day, Chelsea are linked with the acquisition of a player that intrigues us.

Now that’s not because we have our doubts about the ability of this player but merely because of the position he currently plays.

You see, according to the good folk of the Italian news source, Calciomercato, Chelsea are looking to spend a sum of €20 million on the Brescia player, Sandro Tonali.

Now Tonali, 28-years-of-age, is a midfielder which is where the intrigue comes in.

Here at Vital Chelsea, we’re struggling to comprehend why we’re even considering adding a midfielder to the squad when we already have the likes of Jorginho, N’Golo Kante, Ross Barkley, Cesc Fabregas, Kovacic and Ruben Loftus-Cheek at the club.

Also, the €20 million fee would seem to indicate that Tonali is an adequate player as opposed to a superstar, which leads us on to believe that it could be a case of the media seemingly linking us with an Italian player as we have an Italian manager.

But, what are your thoughts on the subject matter?

Would you like to see the club pursue the signature of Tonali or, like me, are you a little perplexed?
