Today, with the January transfer window getting nearer by the day, Chelsea are linked with the acquisition of a player that intrigues us.

Now that’s not because we have our doubts about the ability of this player but merely because of the position he currently plays.

You see, according to the good folk of the Italian news source, Calciomercato, Chelsea are looking to spend a sum of €20 million on the Brescia player, Sandro Tonali.

Now Tonali, 28-years-of-age, is a midfielder which is where the intrigue comes in.

Here at Vital Chelsea, we’re struggling to comprehend why we’re even considering adding a midfielder to the squad when we already have the likes of Jorginho, N’Golo Kante, Ross Barkley, Cesc Fabregas, Kovacic and Ruben Loftus-Cheek at the club.

Also, the €20 million fee would seem to indicate that Tonali is an adequate player as opposed to a superstar, which leads us on to believe that it could be a case of the media seemingly linking us with an Italian player as we have an Italian manager.

But, what are your thoughts on the subject matter?

Would you like to see the club pursue the signature of Tonali or, like me, are you a little perplexed?

  • I am a bit disappointed in the way our coaches(Chelseafc)treat our young home grown like Callum,Ampadu and Loftus Cheek who are good enough to replace some our tired legs moat times in a match. We shouldn’t be spending too much buying when we have good players if not the best to take up the mantle and being given exposure in terms of match experience just like Pep Gaurdiola is doing with Foden in Mancity. We need someone o the inside to please put our msgs across to the staff.
It is very painful that we have a player who can step into the shoes of Eden Harzard(Odoi Callum)with so much similarities if he leaves and yet our coach isn’t building the confidence of this young talents. Pls let someone sing it to the hearing of the board how much we can benefit by giving these our young home growns a chance to prove themselves too

  • Chelsea already has a potent midfield. We need strong, well motivated and intelligent attackers to do the finishing. Marko Arnautovic is one who can be perfect to our situation. Chelsea board should critically evaluate him.
