Flicking through the sports pages of the Sunday press, a familiar name pops out and grabs your attention.

Once again the name of the young Everton defender, John Stones, appears in the same sentence as that of Chelsea Football Club.

But, before you all raise your eyes and look to the skies, it looks as if Chelsea are resigned to defeat when it comes to signing the promising twenty-one year-old defender from Everton.

Instead, the insinuation is given, by the good folk of the Mail on Sunday that Stones is destined to become the latest big-money acquisition at the Etihad Stadium with Stones preferring to remain based in the north-west.

Accepting that it looks like a forlorn chase, the same source is also suggesting that Chelsea will switch their attentions to the twenty-nine year-old Crystal Palace defender Scott Dann.

Is Dann the better option or will we rue missing out on Stones?

Your views would be most appreciated.
