We`ve speculated, over the last few days, just when Radamel Falcao will become a Chelsea player for the coming season.

Although the 29-year-old striker didn`t have the best of seasons, whilst spending a season long loan deal at Old Trafford, Jose Mourinho believes that he can get the Colombian firing again on all cylinders, something that many of you have expressed doubts about, inferring that the serious knee injury Falcao suffered some sixteen months ago ended his career as a feared marksman.

I, like many, am prepared to give Radamel the benefit of the doubt. Scoring is all about chances and confidence and whilst he never really set the world alight during the recent Copa America, where Colombia crashed out on penalties to Argentina, a couple of early season goals could see the player revitalised, but then again I`m sure I said that about Fernando Torres many a time.

But, getting back to the question asked in the opening line, it seems that the deal to bring Falcao to Stamford Bridge, on loan for the season, will be completed later this week with the Colombian having accepted a significant drop in the salary United paid him, with Chelsea coughing up £130,000 a week for his services.

Let`s hope wearing a blue shirt, as some wag put it recently, he produces his best work since Rock Me Amadeus hit the charts!
