Chelsea Turned Down The Chance To Add A Former Premier League Striker To Their Squad On Transfer Deadline Day

|

On Friday the January transfer window slammed shut with Frank Lampard frustrated at not having added any attacking prowess to his squad.

Now just how costly that failure will prove to be remains to be seen.

However, emerging in the media this Sunday morning, courtesy of The Sun, is that Chelsea were offered the opportunity to add a striker to the squad who has had the experience of playing in the Premier League, with the striker in question being Salomon Rondon.

Rondon is among the unfortunate group of players who are currently kicking their heels in China with the Chinese season suspended due to the health problems sweeping across the region.

Desperate for some action, it appears the striker, who is currently on the books of the Chinese side, Dalian Yifang, was offered to Chelsea.

However, despite scoring 5 goals in 11 games in the Chinese Super League, Chelsea turned down the offer inferring that 30-year-old Rondon would not offer any improvement to the squad.

Now, my view is that it was the correct decision but is it a decision you’d agree with?
