Occasionally, when it comes to the transfer market, especially the selling market, mistakes are made when it comes to letting players go.

Let’s take the case of Nathan Ake.

The Dutch defender always looked as if, given the chance, he’d make the grade at Stamford Bridge.

But the key part of that sentence above is given the chance.

Despite looking a hot prospect, Ake was never really given the chance to get that extended run in the side his promise deserved.

As a result, he was sold to another Premier League club, Bournemouth.

Since moving to the south coast, Ake has flourished and shown that faith many had in his talent wasn’t misplaced.

But, as a result, envious eyes are being cast towards the south coast with, according to Sky Sports, the Chelsea scout, Piet de Visser, urging the club to re-sign the 24-year-old.

On paper, Chelsea look as if they have the centre of the defence well covered with the likes of Kurt Zouma, Fikayo Tomori, Andreas Christensen and Antonio Rudiger available, so is there room at Stamford Bridge for Nathan Ake and at what price?

  • its a very good idea from the scout, about resign of Ake to cover up chelsea defence. He’s a player of determination, courage and capable.

  • We need him. He is a utility player but can be drafted to play left back. He is by far an upgrade to Alonso.

  • People are too quick to look for new shiny things… Yeah, Ake is a good defender… Central defence is not Chelsea’s major problem now… Getting a central defensive mid is important as well as plans to replace pedro and giroud… By the end of the season, take stocks on players like Willian Barkley and see how Chelsea will improve on them…
Ake is not the problem now… Unless tomori, Christensen were not good anymore.
