Chelsea v Liverpool – Early Team-News

|

On Sunday, Chelsea welcome Liverpool to Stamford Bridge for their penultimate home fixture of the 2017 / 2018 season.

Although hopes of qualifying for the Champions League next season are slim, it’s a case of it not being over until the Fat Lady sings and Chelsea know a win against Liverpool coupled with a win against Huddersfield, in midweek, will put them on level points with their opponents on Sunday, putting the pressure back on Jurgen Klopp’s side.

Ahead of the fixture, we’ve cobbled together some early team-news:

Starting with Chelsea:

Antonio Conte is able to welcome back Marcos Alonso after the defender completed a three-game suspension after his trial by TV for the somewhat reckless challenge on Shane Long, of Southampton.

Not available, courtesy of injury, are Ethan Ampadu and David Luiz, the former is recovering from a broken ankle whilst the latter is still unable to shrug off a niggling knee injury.

Continuing with our opponents, the 2018 Champions League finalists, Liverpool:

Jurgen Klopp has no fresh injury worries after his side’s triumph in the Champions League semi-final, against Roma.

But Klopp does have a lengthy injury list to contend with, definitely out are – Joel Matip, Emre Can, Adam Lallana and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.

Rated as doubtful is Joe Gomez.

Up the Blues!
