West Brom are heading for Stamford Bridge and another Monday night game which will whet the appetite and feed ravenous press keen to cheer on Chelsea`s perceived demise.

Without covering old ground a Blues win would go down fairly well in these parts. Looking at who`s likely to be available for the game gives us a good opportunity to round up a recent poll.

If all our striker`s were fit, we asked who you`d like to see leading the line against the Baggies. The four choices were

⦁ Alvaro Morata
⦁ Olivier Giroud
⦁ Eden Hazard
⦁ Callum Hudson-Odoi

As it turns out Morata is still injured according to Antonio Conte, mind you he looked happy enough on Friday,

Anyway despite his injury, it was Alvaro Morata that we wanted to up front on Monday evening with 83% of the voters cast. Sadly, unless Conte was simply bluffing that won`t be the case.

After that Olivier Giroud came in second with 9%, Eden Hazard was third with 7% and Callum Hudson-Odoi in last place with just 1%. So despite out protestations about not playing ‘the kids`, when push comes to shove, we`re not brave enough to do it either.

As well missing Morata, Conte will be unable to pick Tiemoue Bakayoko who is suspended following his dismissal in the previous game. Ross Barkley is still recovering from a hamstring injury.

Andreas Christensen faces a late fitness but is set for a return to the heart of Chelsea`s defence following a knock picked up in Bournemouth defeat.

Continuing with West Brom, Jay Rodriguez is likely to start despite being charged by the FA following an allegation of racism by Brighton`s Gaetan Bong. Missing for the Baggies will be Jake Livermore, Grzegorz Krychowiak and James Morrison. Kieran Gibbs and Jonny Evans are also unlikely to feature.

The game kicks-off at 8pm.

  • man, if only we had a striker with a better goal per minute rate than morata to lead us. oh wait, we did. bats. now we get to watch him bury goals for fun at bvb because he’s not tall enough, not slow enough, not old enough, doesn’t have any tactical knowledge despite constantly scoring goals. roman, you suck so much for buying him, not letting conte use him except for 3 to 5 mins most matches, refusing to allow him to be used when morata was injured and then loaning him out against conte’s wishes. if only roman didnt do that. what is he thinking. clearly, conte rates bats and wants him here as the 3rd choice who plays 1 min every 10 matches. im shocked.

  • oh, isn’t funny that jose and all his money and sanchez, matci and pogba just lost to newcastle. let me guess, that’s on roman too. man, roman is ruining two clubs. wait, did emanalo secretly join united? must be. i mean my god, how does a club who spends stupid money and give their manager all the transfers he wants fail to win vs newcastle? clearly, roman and mike ashley must be teaming up!!!

  • Hey, Eric Clarkson… Who is this Man City team that just showed up out of nowhere? Who ever heard of them? I heard a rumour that the guy who manages that team didn’t win the league in the first season that he was involved. It’s almost like he was given some time and freedom to build a team that he really wanted. Jesus H Christmas, for the life of me, I just can’t figure out how these silly things work!

  • If I didn’t know better, I’d almost think that the people over there trusted that fella to do the job they hired him to do… Good thing I don’t know nothin’!
