Chelsea – What To Do With Willian?

|

There’s a feeling among the Chelsea support that the integration of youth into the first team, by Frank Lampard, has the football club on the edge of what could be another golden era.

However, where does that leave the old guard who are approaching the end of their current contracts?

One player who is waiting to hear what the future has in store for him is Willian.

The Brazilian, now 31-years-of-age, is in the last year of his contract and, according to The Express, has yet to be offered a new deal by the club.

At the moment such a stance leaves Willian able to negotiate deals, with other clubs, come January 2020.

But, according to our quoted source, Willian would prefer to remain at Stamford Bridge and is quoted as having remarked about the situation:

“From my side, I want to stay. I have one year left and I want to stay because I like to play for Chelsea.

“I love this club, I love to live in London and my family loves it here. I have been here six years already so everything is perfect for me. Of course there is more I want to do at Chelsea, win the Champions League!

“I want to win more titles here, I want to play more games, to score more goals so everything that I can do, I will try hard to do.”

But will Willian, with the likes of Callum Hudson-Odoi and Christian Pulisic pushing for starting places, get his wish?

What are your views on the future of Willian, should he be kept on or should he be sold?
