This golden summer for young England sides continued in Georgia yesterday.

With the U20 side having already won the U20 World Cup, in South Korea, the U19 side covered themselves in glory by winning the European U19 Championships.

Taking on Portugal, in the final, England opened the scoring when Easah Suliman (Aston Villa) scored. However, the lead was to last just six minutes before Portugal were level with Chelsea`s Dujon Sterling volleying into his own net.

Thankfully, England secured the win when Lukas Ninecha (Manchester City) scored the winner.

The youngsters faced a tough battle for the last nine minutes when they were forced to play with ten men after Tayo Edun was shown a second yellow card and a subsequent red one.

Our congratulations go to those involved especially Mason Mount, who had an inspired game in the middle of the park.

Now, I guess they can finally call their 2016 / 2017 season over.
