The last knockings of the recent January transfer window saw Chelsea do two deals relating to strikers.

One deal saw our young Belgian striker, Michy Batshuayi, depart on loan whilst another saw Chelsea sign the veteran French striker Olivier Giroud.

Batshuayi`s loan deal saw him move to the Bundesliga side, Borussia Dortmund.

Since his arrival, Batshuayi has made an instant impact with the 24-year-old scoring 3 times in his 2 games for the club so far, whilst also providing an assist.

His start has obviously impressed the Borussia Dortmund hierarchy as reports have emerged in the media source, the Evening Standard, that the Bundesliga side are already talking about pursuing a permanent deal for the striker.

However, we should point out that the loan agreement, which lasts until the end of the season, does not contain a clause whereby, when the loan deal expires, Borussia Dortmund can sign the player.

Also, Antonio Conte has been at pains to point out, despite allowing Batshuayi to go out on loan, the Belgian does have a long-term future at Stamford Bridge.

However, as we`ve found out on numerous occasions, this game we all love has a tendency to provide a few unexpected twists, could the future of Michy Batshuayi be one of them?
