Chelsea`s Goalkeeper Speculation Continues

With Thibaut Courtois himself, undecided on his future, it seems more than likely that he`ll remain at Stamford Bridge next season.

Any chance he may have had of a move to Real Madrid were all but scuppered by Lionel Messi and the keepers own gangly legs last week. With Willy Caballero out of contract at the end of the season, could the Belgian find himself in the awkward position of having to genuinely fight for top spot between the sticks.

Chelsea have been linked with a number of goalkeepers recently, as Courtois looked to find a way back to Madrid, and his children. Should he stay, he may find himself under increasing pressure. The latest name in the frame is Jan Oblak, currently at Atletico Madrid.

The player has a £88m release clause in his current contract and according to The Sun Chelsea or Arsenal could trigger that. Madrid are, in turn, looking at Liverpool target Allison, currently with Roma.

Courtois said earlier in the season he wasn`t interested in contract negotiations, as he wanted to concentrate on playing. Contract talk could wait until the football was over. He`s done anything but that. The constant speculation has clearly unsettled him and the defenders in front of him.

A deal should have either been tied up or he should have been moved on. I say bring back Petr Cech, there`d be no insubordination from Chelsea`s greatest ever keeper.
