Chelsea’s January Scenario – One Big Name In And One Big Name Out

|

The summer transfer window may only have recently closed but with it being mid-October, it is not long until the January transfer window opens.

After spending big in the summer transfer window, I am not sure if we will see a repeat come January.

But, among all the speculation already surfacing, the names of two players are prominent, those of N’Golo Kante and Declan Rice.

Indeed, it could be a case, as The Daily Star suggests, with the future of one depending upon the other.

Our referenced source goes on to imply that Chelsea would be willing to sell N’Golo Kante if West Ham could be persuaded to sell Declan Rice to Chelsea, the intimation being that Frank Lampard believes Rice is the natural successor to Kante.

Now, back when the summer transfer window was open, we ran a poll that simply asked:

Will Declan Rice Join Chelsea Before The Transfer Window Slams Shut?

The results showed that 59% of you thought he would, 35% thought he would not with 6% unable to make their minds up.

History shows that 35% were correct.

But could that scenario change in January?

Can you see Rice joining Chelsea and Kante leaving?

Sticking my head above the parapet, I cannot see it happening, but what are your views on the subject matter?

  • Remy says:

Chelsea trying to loose kante, chelsea trying to make a huge mistake.

  • Simon says:

I prefer kante to stay. selling of kante will be the biggest mistake chelsea will make,so i prefer kante over Rice.

  • Maxwell says:

Chelsea not going to sell Kante at any price and Kante not pushing to leave anytime soon. It’s the English media that is trying to push Kante out of Chelsea so that Chelsea can sign overrated Declan Rice.
