It`s been a good night in the Champions League for Chelsea. A 4-0 win over Qarabag in Azerbaijan, followed by a 2-0 win for Atletico Madrid against Roma, leaves Antonio Conte`s side in a good position.
Going into the last round of games, Chelsea need to avoid defeat against Atletico Madrid at Stamford Bridge and hope Roma don`t beat Qarabag by more than five goals to top the group. In the round of sixteen, the winners of each group face a team that came second.
Teams who play in the same domestic leagues cannot face each other at this stage. Neither can you be drawn against the team that was in the same qualifying group. Taking that into account, and as it stands, should Chelsea top their group, they could face one of the following teams,

⦁ Bayern Munich
⦁ Juventus
⦁ Sevilla
⦁ Shakhtar Donetsk
⦁ FC Porto
⦁ Real Madrid
There is the possibility that Napoli could replace Shakhtar Donetsk. Looking at some of those teams, it`s difficult to say winning the group gives any advantage at all. Should Chelsea find themselves in second place when the final matchday games are done. It`s a bit simpler, at present they`ll face one of,

⦁ FC Barcelona
⦁ Besiktas
It`s all ifs and buts, but whoever we face and wherever we finish, there are no real easy games to come. Chelsea`s final group game against Atletico is on Wednesday 5th December at Stamford Bridge.
