Chelsea’s Superstar Not Interested In January Move But The Summer Is A Different Story

|

Once again, the future of Eden Hazard features prominently in the media today.

But, then again, that’s only to be expected.

If Chelsea were hoping that Eden would consider putting pen-to-paper on a new deal, ahead of his current contract expiring, I don’t believe the events of the past few weeks have done anything to convince him to stay.

Asked to play as a false #9, Hazard has looked a shadow of the player he was at the start of the season, although naturally extremely gifted, playing through the middle has left Hazard frustrated and, at times, looking a little distant and forlorn.

Hopefully, this Thursday, Eden will be restored to his normal wide position and run Tottenham Hotspur ragged, possibly grabbing the goal that takes us to a Wembley Final.

But, returning to the speculation in the media, the tabloid publication, the Mirror, has picked up on something the Spanish media are championing.

It seems, as we already knew, Eden isn’t interested in going anywhere during the January transfer window but come to the end of the season he has his heart set on a move to Real Madrid.

To me, it’s a natural progression.

In the last fourteen months Chelsea have slipped from their mantle as Premier League champions to looking like also-rans and, at the moment, would you bet your last dollar on the situation improving?

I certainly wouldn’t!
