Choosing A Combined Chelsea / Spurs Starting XI

|

I’m not sure how this suggestion will go down among the Chelsea faithful!

The mere thought of it has me gagging.

But, then again, my thinking is that it could prove to be a debate generating subject.

Flicking through various news sources this morning, I stumbled across something on the BBC, where they are asking their readers to select a combined Chelsea and Spurs side, ahead of the London derby, at Wembley, this Saturday afternoon.

Now, those who have been frequently this site for several years will know it is something that we used to do on a regular basis.

Therefore, we thought we’d re-introduce it, as a one-off, to see if there is still an interest in such an article.

The rules for this are simple, although the task in hand may not be.

Simply select a combined Chelsea and Spurs XI, an eleven that must include six players from one club and five from the other.

Whilst, it may initially seem simple, I can assure you it isn’t.

But, please take time to ponder and drop your selections in the comments section below this article.
For the record books, and putting myself at risk of ridicule, I opted for the following XI:

• Arrizabalaga (Chelsea)
• Azpilicueta (Chelsea)
• Rudiger (Chelsea)
• Alderweireld (Spurs)
• Trippier (Spurs)
• Eriksen (Spurs)
• Kante (Chelsea)
• Alli (Spurs)
• Hazard (Chelsea)
• Kane (Spurs)
• Willian (Chelsea)

Does your eleven resemble mine, or is it completely different?
