Christensen composure, a worry for Cahill

Andreas Christensen performance against Spurs at Wembley on Sunday may cause Gary Cahill a concern after the young Dane live up to expectation by filling the void left by Chelsea captain, Gary Cahill following the red card he deservedly got against Burnley on the day 1 of the season at Stamford Bridge.

Antonio Conte needed to call on the 21-year-old Danish international to make his first start against the second best club (Spurs) in EPL football last season and also the side which also possess best attacking threats in players like Harry Kane, Dele Ali and Christian Erikson.

Though, Christensen never showed any panic facing the trio. He was calm, confident and showed best of composure not normally expected of a player of his status. He is more of a ball playing defender and reads the game well by also linking up play with the midfielders when necessary.

He has the aerial ability, good timing and all round ball player?..just second to none.

I will say I am seeing another Gerrard Pique in Christensen.

Cahill is set to miss the Everton and Leicester City matches following his careless tackle that got our dear captain a red card and a three card suspension.

Is it enough time for Christensen to convince the blues family of what he’s capable of?

If the Dane could maintain his decent performance produced at Wembley, do you think Cahill`s place could be under threat?
