I’m sure I’m not alone when it comes to still being a little perplexed as to the manner in which Antonio Conte was removed from office.

To me, it seemed sheer folly to allow Conte to return to Cobham for pre-season training and then swing the axe less than a week later.

But, as we’ve come to accept, the world does work in mischievous ways when it comes to the way Chelsea Football Club operates

Following his dismissal, there were some video clips that emerged on Facebook, and I’m not going to link to one, which suggested that Conte had taken his sacking in a very bad way with the clip showing Conte bad-mouthing the club, Roman Abramovich and also hoping we’re relegated this coming season.

Those clips, as Donald Trump is often keen to tell us, were fake news.

Instead, the Italian, as we expected, has acted in an impeccable manner and as reported by the news source, the Metro, has remarked,

“I hope Chelsea will continue to be successful and I wish everyone well for next season. I have made many memories during my time with Chelsea, which I’ll take with me into my next challenge.”

Antonio Conte will always be held in high regard by the Chelsea faithful, we’ll never forget the march to the Premier League title in the 2016 / 2017 season and also eclipse Jose Mourinho in the 2018 FA Cup Final, I’m sure our paths will cross again and until they do we wish Antonio all the best.

  • Not being funny but I have been away a while. Has this site changed as there used to be many writers and lots of comments etc. I even wrote a few articles but it doesn’t seem to be the case now. Just curious!

  • Is a miss feeling for me how Chelsea let go of Conte because he’s a great Manager. However, in the world of football, Coaches are hired and fired.
I wish Conte all the best in his future endeavors.

  • It is one those things in life, change is always paramount in one’s life but for the little period Conte stayed in Chelsea, i think he leaves memories just his predecessor , Change is eminent and has come, he accept it in fate but we the fans will also always remember what he did in his first season with Chelsea while we wish him good luck in his future endeavors.
