Following Nemanja Matic`s departure to Manchester United, a new name has been linked with Chelsea this transfer window. Leicester City`s Danny Drinkwater is being cited as a target in a number of publications tonight (Monday).

The source of the story is Sky Sports who claim Drinkwater is one of a number of possibilities to replace the now departed Serb. The move would see the midfielder link up with ex-Leicester partner N`golo Kante.

The story states that Drinkwater signed a 4 year deal last summer. As such Leicester boss Craig Shakespeare is under no pressure to sell and is keen to keep the Englishman.

Other names Antonio Conte is believed to have highlighted as targets for the Blues midfield are Ross Barkley and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.

Bookmakers make Chelsea favourites to ‘the Ox` from Arsenal, despite Arsene Wenger`s belief that the winger should just run down his current contract. This deluded belief would see the player leave the club for free next summer.

The Express believe Conte could turn ‘the Ox` into a star wing-back, in the same way he transfomed Victor Moses last season.

With the list of players leaving Chelsea increasing by the day, new faces need to be coming into the squad appease the manager and the supporters. These two would also bolster Chelsea`s homegrown quota of players.
