Thibaut Courtois has hit back at former Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal who has criticised his performance against Barcelona.

After the game van Gaal suggested that our Belgian mouthpiece was badly at fault for Chelsea`s defeat. In the Metro Courtois had his right to reply,

‘When I hear so-called experts talking, I think they know nothing about goalkeeping, for example, Van Gaal should not talk about goalkeepers,`

In fairness to Tibo, he already held his hands up for the mistake. In that respect you have to draw a line under it and move on.

In other Courtois news, he`s been forced out of Belgian`s friendly with Saudi Arabia. He`s returned to Cobham with a familiar hamstring injury. Such is the occurence of this injury this season our Italian manager`s training methods have come under scrutiny. Any future reference and we`ll say ‘he`s picked up a Conte`.

There will be mixed feelings amongst Chelsea fans at that news. Similarly, there will be the same reaction to this. Speaking to the Belgian TV and Radio network Sporza, Courtois has been talking about his future. To many these quotes will come as no big surprise. The Evening Standard run the interview,

“If I go to the World Cup with a clear idea, sign or wait another year, then I have a clear head at the tournament,” he told Sporza. I am still proud to play at Chelsea and I want to achieve success.”

“I have one year [left on my] contract and feel good at Chelsea, at the end of the season we will sit down together and set out a vision.

Here comes the clincher,

“I know that I will be at Chelsea next year as well.”

And there you have it, is anyone surprised? Feel free to discuss in our comments section below.
