When Chelsea takes on Werder Bremen this Sunday, we`re likely to get our first glimpse of Thibaut Courtois in a Chelsea shirt.

Having spent three years on loan at Atletico Madrid, Courtois is now back with us and keen to grab the green keepers` jersey for himself.

Rumours persist that may be the case with Chelsea having to ship out one of the many international classified players.

Talking to the media, Courtois has spoken about Cech and having his first training session at a club he signed for some three years ago, remarking,

“Petr has had a really nice 10 years here. He`s one of the best goalkeepers in the world. You can learn a lot from every keeper you train with.”

“Every goalkeeper can have a type of thing they are usually good at so when you see them train you can learn from him and other keepers, too. It helps you during your training.”

“I signed with Chelsea three years ago but because of the loan it took until Thursday to have my first training session, so I`m really happy to be here.”

However, having now taken up base with Chelsea, Courtois is amongst a couple of familiar faces with Filipe Luis and Diego Costa having joined Chelsea from Atletico Madrid this summer, something that has made settling in easier, with Courtois further adding,

“It`s nice when you arrive to know that you`re not alone. I remember my first day at Atletico where I didn`t know anybody and it was a little weird.”

“When you have team-mates who have already been here for over a week they can help you. It`s nice to find friends; they were like that with me at Atletico so it`s good that they`re here.”

And as for having spent three years away, Courtois commented,

“I gained a lot of experience playing some important games. In every aspect of being a goalkeeper I improved. As a young keeper you can learn in every training session. I learned a lot.”

Is the situation facing us the same as when Cech came along to replace Cudicini?

Is lightning set to strike twice?

Your thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
