Nestling amongst the many pieces of transfer speculation, this morning, is something that relates to our popular goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois.

According to the Spanish news source Marca, Courtois has his mind set on a move to Real Madrid.

The Spanish based, pro-real Madrid news source, seems ready to muddy the waters by claiming that Courtois, now 25-years-of-age, is refusing to put pen-to-paper on a new contract.

The Belgian`s current deal expires on 30 June 2019, putting Chelsea in the position whereby, if the keeper is insistent that he wants to leave Stamford Bridge and join Real Madrid, then next summer may well be the time to cut the ties, otherwise Chelsea risk losing their world-class keeper for nothing when his contract expires the following season.

Our referenced source also goes on to suggest that although Courtois is grateful for Chelsea for taking him on when he was so young the time, he feels, is approaching whereby his time in the Premier League is coming to a close.

Marca, also plays it`s joker card by digging up a quote associated with Courtois, whereby on a recent visit, he remarked,

‘I hope to return soon.’

Should we be concerned or is it just scaremongering by the Spanish media?

Your thoughts, in our comments facility, would be most welcome.
