Could there be a surprise development when it comes to the future of Diego Costa?
Although the striker has ambitions of returning to Atletico Madrid, could the prospect of not playing first-team football and the subsequent knock-on effect it might have on his chances of being selected for the 2018 Spanish World Cup squad, see the striker head off somewhere else?

But, if that is the case where would such a likely destination be?
Well, according to the The Telegraph, it could very well be Marseille.
Our aforementioned source carries quotes form the Marseille president, Jacques-Henri Eyraud, that suggest he is an admirer of the feisty, unpredictable striker, remarking to the media,
“What I like a lot about this player is of course his character, tenacity and fight.
“It is something that would go down very well with us here at Marseille.
“If a player ticks all the boxes, why not? Nothing is impossible.”
Well I wouldn`t go that far, but perhaps a move to Marseille, if his return to Atletico Madrid continues to stall, could be an option for the 28-year-old.
