Barely 24 hours before the summer window of wheeling and dealing officially slams open, German outfit Borussia Dortmund have wasted no man hours in pouring cold water on any purported bid Chelsea Football Club may have made for their striker, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

Recent reports in the tabloid press had claimed the
25-year-old Gabonese, who arrived the Bundesliga outfit just last summer from French Ligue 1 club Saint-Etienne, was being put up for sale by BVB over concerns for his lack of defensive work, and that he was close to joining Chelsea with a bid of ?7m having been submitted and accepted; but this morning Dortmund’s Sporting Director Michael Zorc has denied receiving an approach from Chelsea for the forward.

“Nothing has arrived with us”, Zorc explained to Bild, when questioned about Chelsea’s interest.

Erm, it doesn’t get any simpler than that, does it?

And talking of simple; with the fleet-footed striker’s senior career numbers simply phenomenal?averaging a goal every other game for any club lucky enough to have him on their books?wouldn’t the other side of his game, that of defending and backtracking, simply prove another turn-off for the simply defense-oriented Jose Mourinho?

I hope it doesn’t Mata though if we eventually do submit a bid.

But what are your thoughts?
Do you think we’ll submit a bid for Aubameyang soon or that he’s what we need in the first place to alleviate(please note I didn’t say eradicate) our well documented striking woes?
