Dortmund Still Eyeing Permanent Deal for Batshuayi

|

The decision to send Michy Batshuayi off on loan, to Borussia Dortmund, was clearly designed to give the young Belgian striker some much-needed, regular game-time.

It is a decision that was clearly paying dividends with the 24-year-old striker hitting the net 9 times in his 14 appearances for the Bundesliga side.

Sadly, Batshuayi’s season has been cut short with the striker returning to Chelsea after suffering ankle ligament damage, at the weekend.

The injury has curtailed Batshuayi’s season and now the young striker faces a race to be fit to play a part in Belgian’s 2018 World Cup bid, in Russia, this summer.

However, according to the news source, Standard Batshuayi’s Borussia Dortmund career may be far from over.

Our source is championing the suggestion Dortmund are looking to procure the services of the player on a permanent deal, this summer.

It seems that Dortmund, when they took the player on loan, wanted a clause in the deal whereby they could sign him on a permanent basis once the loan spell was over, it was a suggestion that Chelsea didn’t agree to.

However, our source is continuing to promote the suggestion that Dortmund haven’t given up on the idea of signing the player.

But whether Chelsea would be prepared to do business remains to be seen.

When Chelsea signed Batshuayi, from Marseille in 2016, they paid £33.1 million for the young striker, if a deal is to be sealed it’d probably take a fee of around the £50 million to get it over the line.

Can anyone see such a deal happening?
