According to reports circulating on the BBC text feed this afternoon, Didier Drogba could become a Chicago Fire player very shortly.

The 37-year-old Chelsea legend, who will forever hold a place in our hearts, has promised to give the Major League Soccer side, an answer inside the next forty-eight hours with their head coach, the former Ipswich Town player, Frank Yallop, remarking about the situation,

‘We’re waiting on an answer, probably in the next 48 hours.

‘He has choices. We feel that we’ve put a pretty good pitch in. He’s very happy with what we’ve done, but, again, it’s up the person himself to choose, and we’ll see.’

Is Chicago the venue for Didier Drogba to continue a playing career that saw him decide to leave Stamford Bridge after his second spell with us came to an end?

I reckon it could well be as the MLS continues to attract veterans that have called time on their careers in Europe.
