The draw has taken place for the third round of the the EFL Cup which this season is being sponsored by Thai energy drink company Carabeo. The first round draw took place in Thailand.

With Premier League teams entering the competition at this stage, the Football League took the third round draw all the way to Beijing. Presumably they were using the popularity of the EPL teams in China to boost interest in a competition that seen its popularity at home fall.

When the balls came out of of the bag (or however they did it) at 4:15 am this morning Chelsea were handed a home draw against Championship side Nottingham Forest.

Forest booked their place in the third round with a 3-2 win over Newcastle United and will visit Stamford Bridge during the week beginning 18th September.

Chelsea last faced Forest back in January 2007 when the Blues came out on top in a 3-0 victory in the fourth round of the FA Cup. Goals from Andriy Shevchenko, Didier Drogba and a very rare lesser-spotted John Obi Mikel goal secured the win.
