End Of The Road For Chelsea Loan Star

|

These must be strange times for the plethora of Chelsea players who are out on season-long loan spells.

With a change in the Stamford Bridge managerial hot seat, several must be wondering whether their place in the Chelsea pecking order has changed.

When Ross Barkley was offered a chance to join Aston Villa, for the season, the 27-year-old jumped at the opportunity.

Since moving to Villa Park, the former England midfielder has flourished and it would appear, according to 90 Minutes that Aston Villa are keen to make the deal a permanent one.

Obviously, whether that materialises depends on whether Aston Villa can match any price set and whether, having not witnessed the player in the flesh, Thomas Tuchel will be prepared to see Barkley clear his Stamford Bridge locker.

Barkley, having benefitted from regular first team football, will also have to decide whether he believes he can be part of the new Chelsea set-up.

Personally, my belief is that Barkley will be off-loaded, but is that a view you concur with?

Of course he’s going. He’s useless. I mean, if the club is willing to move valuable players like Tomori, why would they keep the likes of Ross Barkley? Did any of us really believe that he ever had a chance?
