There has been too much speculation for us not too believe that the Everton striker, Romelu Lukaku, is headed for a return to Stamford Bridge.

You get the impression that although the raft of speculation has died down in recent days, the deal is on the table, agreed and is just waiting for the relevant parties to put pen-to-paper.

However, with our past record with Everton when it comes to transfer dealings, particularly the John Stones saga, it wouldn`t surprise me if it all went pear-shaped at the last minute, over a sensible fee.

But, reading between the lines, it looks very much as if Everton are looking to fill the striking void left by the departure of the Belgian international striker.

Today, it is being reported by the Daily Post, Everton are looking to acquire the services of a striker who once played just down the Fulham Road from us and who had an excellent first season, in Scotland, with Glasgow Celtic, namely Moussa Dembele.

Any fee Everton will need to pay Celtic to attract the 20-year-old Frenchman to Goodison Park will clearly be offset by the huge fee Chelsea will be expected to pay for Lukaku.
