Everton’s Desire To Sign Chelsea Defender Remains

|

With there still being almost two weeks until the summer transfer window slams shut, here at Vital Chelsea, we expect there are several deals that will still be completed.

Of those deals, we are expecting the majority to see players leave as Frank Lampard reduces the size of his squad by moving on several of his fringe players.

Today, courtesy of The Times, yet more column inches have been generated regarding the future of our young defender, Fikayo Tomori.

According to our source, the Everton boss Carlo Ancelotti is still keen to add the 22-year-old to his squad.

Tomori’s future remains something of a puzzle.

After a successful season on loan at Derby County, when Frank Lampard was in charge there, the defender looked set for a long Chelsea career.

Last season, he did enough to warrant a place in Lampard’s starting eleven but the second half of the season saw Fikayo conspicuous by his absence.

Was there a reason for that?
