Everybody’s Happy For Happy To Remain At Chelsea

|

Earlier this summer, as we contemplated which of the plethora of those players who were sent out on-loan last season might be given a chance to shine at Chelsea this season, we focussed on one player in particular.

Our article id-be-happy-for-this-centre-back-to-be-given-his-chance-at-chelsea, concentrated on Kurt Happy Zouma possibly emerging as a contender for a place in the heart of the Chelsea back-four.

The French centre-back has spent the last two seasons out on loan, first at Stoke City and then at Everton with the latter keen to add the French international to their squad on a permanent basis.

However, following the latest game in the pre-season preparations, in Japan, and as reported by The Daily Mirror, Frank Lampard has all but kyboshed any chances of Everton doing a deal by declaring Zouma’s future lies at Chelsea with Frank quoted by our source as having remarked:

“In terms of Kurt Zouma, he’s a very good defender for us, very good player, very good person and professional. I want him here, simple as that.

“I want him here, simple as that. We are competitive with the centre backs we have in the team and he had a very good season at Everton and I can understand why they want him.

“He’s a Chelsea player and I want him.”

Let’s hope the Chelsea hierarchy heed Frank’s words, Zouma, before picking up that horrific knee injury against Manchester United several seasons ago, showed that he has the talent to reach the very top of his profession and at 24-years-of-age, that time could soon and preferably be with us.
