FA Cup Final – 3 Hopes The Key for Success

|

On the eve of the 2018 FA Cup Final, a fixture that sees two of the Premier League’s best sides go head-to-head, I’m hoping that the game will be a cracker and that those in blue will be celebrating cometh the final whistle.

But, for that to be the case, I’ve no doubt that Chelsea will have to play a lot better than they did in their last two Premier League games where they drew at home to Huddersfield and then produced, quite probably, the worst performance of the season away to Newcastle.

Ahead of the tie, I’ve narrowed down three things I hope happen at Wembley on Saturday afternoon.

If these hopes are realised, then FA Cup glory could be ours!

Firstly, I sincerely hope that Antonio Conte can motivate his side, that the Italian can send them out in a far better frame of mind than they have done in previous games against fellow top-six sides when the order of the day has been caution, the particular case that springs to mind being Manchester City (a), where, although some claimed it was a tactical masterclass, others thought it was total surrender.

Secondly, I really hope that Eden Hazard can rise to the occasion. If Chelsea are to emerge the victors, the Belgian wizard will need to sparkle. The Wembley pitch is made for him, it’ll give him space to operate in and allow him to taunt and tease the Manchester United defence, so how about it Eden, wipe that smile off Jose Mourinho’s face.

Thirdly, I hope whoever Antonio Conte selects alongside N’Golo Kante they have the game of their lives. If it is to be Tiemoue Bakayoko let’s hope the French international has his best game of the season, if it is to be Cesc Fabregas, let’s hope the Spaniard doesn’t see the powerful Manchester United midfield brush him aside as they come forward.

But, what are your hopes for what promises to be an enthralling FA Cup Final?
