FA Cup Semi-Final – Chelsea 2 Southampton 0 – The Thoughts of Eden Hazard

|

At Wembley this afternoon, as Chelsea booked a place in the 2018 FA Cup Final, where they will take on Manchester United and a certain Jose Mourinho, Eden Hazard was voted as the man-of-the-match.

After a quiet couple of months, the Belgian has started to get his best form back and every time he was on the ball this afternoon, it looked as if he was going to create something.

Following the final whistle, it was, perhaps, inevitable, Eden would be grabbed by the media for a few words.

Speaking to the BBC our jewel-in-the-crown had this to say:

“We gave everything, we played very good football especially in the second half and controlled the game.

“Now we go to the final and for the championship Premier League again and then we can think about the final against Manchester United.

“Southampton have good players, really good, so we had to be aware every time they had the ball and when you can score the second to close the game you have to do it. We will enjoy the final now.”

And when pressed whether fifth in the Premier League and the FA Cup would represent a good season, Hazard replied,

“No we want to finish in the top four and win the FA Cup that’s the target.”

Could Chelsea still make the top four?

Let’s not give up until the ‘Fat Lady’ sings.
