Having joined the Chelsea squad out in the US as they continue the build-up to the start of the new season, it`ll be interesting to see how Radamel Falcao adapts to life at Stamford Bridge.

Last season, at Old Trafford, Falcao didn`t have the best of times, but as we`ve reported on before, Jose Mourinho is certain he can get Falcao back to the sort of deadly form he showed during his Atletico Madrid days.

Somebody who also knows Falcao very well is Diego Costa, with both having been on the books of the Spanish outfit.

Talking about Falcao, at the press conference held ahead of the fixture tonight against Paris St-Germain, a press conference shown on Chelsea TV, Diego Costa remarked,

“The only thing he needs is to feel loved and trusted – and he`ll get both here.

“It`s good for us he didn`t have the best of seasons at United as that`s why he`s now with us.

“We know Falcao is a hugely talented player, something he has shown all over the world.

“Manager Jose Mourinho is happy to have him and we`re all excited. I played with him in Madrid and he`s a top bloke.

“Radamel knows the sort of manager Mourinho is. He`s liked by players because he trusts and backs them.”

Some interesting points raised there by Diego, especially the confidence one.

My feeling is if Falcao gets off to a good start at Chelsea, just like Diego did last season, the acquisition of the Colombian will be a great one. The 29-year-old is the kind of striker who has fantastic movement off the ball, something Chelsea will need to exploit, my belief is that Manchester United`s slow build-up game, introduced by Louis van Gaal, didn`t quite suit the Columbian.

It`ll be interesting to see how he gets on though!
