FIFA Impose Transfer Ban On Our Beloved Chelsea Football Club

|

Speculation had been bubbling under for months that all was not well when it came to FIFA and Chelsea’s history of buying youth players.

Today that speculation has ended with the shock news that Chelsea have been handed a transfer ban, by FIFA.

The club, if the punishment isn’t challenged, will not be able to bring any players to the club for the next two transfer windows meaning that the next time Chelsea are able to sign a player will be January 2020.

However, the punishment doesn’t stop Chelsea from selling players.

As well as the transfer ban, Chelsea have also been fined £460,000 whilst the Football Association have also been hit with a £390,000 fine.

Chelsea, have three days to appeal if they believe the punishment is unjust.

It would appear, according to the news source, the BBC, that the investigation unearthed breaches in 29 cases of signing young players, quite a hefty charge sheet we’d say.

If Chelsea cannot overturn the ban, then they will have to rely on the youngsters coming through the system to supplement what is a squad that needed a desperate overhaul this summer.

Perhaps, an appeal will delay the ban and then drastic steps can be taken to improve the squad this summer, otherwise, a two-transfer window ban could see the club slip further away from the top echelons of the Premier League.
