Speculation has been rife for several weeks now that Filipe Luis may be leaving Chelsea Football Club.

That speculation has been proven to be true with it being announced, as many of us suspected it would be sooner rather than later, the Brazilian international has returned to his former club, Atletico Madrid for an undisclosed fee.

The 29-year-old returns to Atletico a year after signing for Chelsea and having made 26 appearances.

Upon putting his name to a four year deal with Atletico, their sporting director, Jose Luis Perez Caminero, has remarked on Atletico`s official site,

‘We all know Filipe Luis. We will be stronger with one of the most talented wingers in the world. He already knows our club and our way of playing so he will adapt quickly.’

We suspect that Chelsea will now be actively seeking replacement with the excellent Cesar Azpilicueta the only top-notch left back we have, even though the Spaniard is right-footed.

Once again we suspect talk of a move for the Ausburg and Ghana left-back, Abdul Baba Rahman will emerge over the coming days.
