One of the more intriguing aspects of the 2019 January transfer window so far, has been the continual speculation linking our exciting young winger, Callum Hudson-Odoi, with a move to Bayern Munich.
In what has been a relatively quiet transfer window for Chelsea, it has been the Bavarian’s quest to lure the teenager away from Stamford Bridge that has generated the most interest from the Chelsea support.
Most of the comments we’ve received, when reporting on the possible move, relate to Chelsea ensuring the player remains at Stamford Bridge whilst also demanding that Maurizio Sarri gives the player more game time, something that is playing its part in the teenagers’ apparent desire to leave the club.
With just five days to go, at the time of writing, before the window slams shut, there is still the potential for this move to go through although we’d hope that Chelsea are doing their utmost to persuade Callum to stay at the club.
With the situation delicately poised, the news source, Sky Sports, is reporting that Bayern Munich are set to make a final move to land the player, apparently ready to increase their top offer, so far, of £35 million.
Bayern, according to our referenced source, are hoping they can force through a deal and are hoping that, following the arrival of Gonzalo Higuain, Chelsea need to balance their books.
If that were to be the case and it resulted in Hudson-Odoi, it’d border on the incredible, with Chelsea sacrificing a hugely talented youngster, possibly with more than a decade to give the club, in order to sign a player that is already the wrong side of thirty.
But we all know strange things do happen at our wonderful club.
We can only sit tight and see what exactly does materialise can we not?
