Speculation relating to the imminent axing of Antonio Conte appears to have subsided since Chelsea`s apparent return to form.

However, the media vultures are, we`re assured, still circling above Stamford Bridge and you get the feeling the next few games, against Barcelona (h) and (a), Manchester United (a) and Manchester City (a), could go a considerable way to determining who will be in the Chelsea hot-seat come the start of the 2018 / 2019 season.

One name that has been mentioned as a possible successor to Antonio Conte, is that of another Italian, Carlo Ancelotti.

Ancelotti has already had one spell at Chelsea during which he made history by leading Chelsea to a unique Premier League and FA Cup double, the first and only time the club has achieved this remarkable feat.
