Speculation relating to the imminent axing of Antonio Conte appears to have subsided since Chelsea`s apparent return to form.

However, the media vultures are, we`re assured, still circling above Stamford Bridge and you get the feeling the next few games, against Barcelona (h) and (a), Manchester United (a) and Manchester City (a), could go a considerable way to determining who will be in the Chelsea hot-seat come the start of the 2018 / 2019 season.

One name that has been mentioned as a possible successor to Antonio Conte, is that of another Italian, Carlo Ancelotti.

Ancelotti has already had one spell at Chelsea during which he made history by leading Chelsea to a unique Premier League and FA Cup double, the first and only time the club has achieved this remarkable feat.

However, despite that unique achievement, Ancelotti was axed the following may when silverware eluded him and he could only lead the club to second place in the Premier League, with the Italian being axed a matter of moments after an away fixture at Goodison Park.

But, despite that ending to his first spell, the speculation linking Ancelotti with a second spell refuses to subside.

Today, the red-top news source, The Mirror, adds to the speculation by reporting that Ancelotti has no interest in a stint as the boss at Paris Saint-Germain as he yearns for a return to the Premier League.

Could Ancelotti have his eyes on a return to Stamford Bridge?

Stranger things have happened!
