Over in Indonesia, somebody who came through the youth system at Chelsea Football Club, is having something of a rough time.

Carlton Cole, who was dubbed ‘my young lion` by Claudio Raneiri when he burst into the first team, has had a career that many would yearn for but also a career that many feel hasn`t achieved as much as that teenage promised predicted.

Now 33-years-of-age, Cole is playing for the Indonesian side, Persib Bandung, but isn`t having the best of times.

Yesterday, according to the Daily Mail Cole was the victim of a savage personal attack by the Persib Bandung manager, who implied that Cole was the worst of the foreigners in his side, that he plays very badly and that he is set to be sacked.

Naturally, Cole didn`t take too kindly to the accusations and counter-claimed that the manager had it in for him and that he was playing well and was looking to stay for the remainder of his one-year contract.

Now here at Vital Chelsea we`re not sure what to believe but this story does show that playing abroad, often receiving a large salary, isn`t always what you might think it will be.
