Yesterday there were a few mutterings on the site relating to Chelsea Football Club, seemingly, taking an age to tie up the transfer of the Stoke City keeper, Asmir Begovic.

With it being reported that the Bosnian keeper, 28-years of age, had joined up with the Stoke City squad for their pre-season tour.

However, sat here in the editorial chair, I`m sure that everything is under control and I have no qualms (famous last words) about a possible late intervention from Manchester United.

In fact I`d suggest that recent activity in the transfer market, by Stoke City, would suggest that the deal is very much on track with Stoke pulling off something of a last minute coup to sign the Aston Villa keeper, Shay Given, from underneath the noses of the Championship side Middlesbrough.

Given so we presume, will provide competition / back-up for Jack Butland with Begovic coming to Stamford Bridge.

Unless, of course, someone knows better!
