A third of the way into the transfer window and in real incoming terms, there`s still just Ross Barkley, who`s new on Chelsea`s books. However, at Vital Chelsea, we do expect at least one more signing, maybe two. It`s just a case of being patient and waiting until the final knockings of the window before those deals are done.

As it`s a matchday, this will be a shortened version of the roundup. There`s really no need to keep recycling the same old stories, we know those players names very well, and if anything new becomes available we`ll obviously deliver it to you.

Regarding any new names in the frame, frankly, there are very few. A quick one to start with from Sportbild over in Germany. They are say that Chelsea have first refusal on Thorgan Hazard should anyone else come in for him. If Chelsea match an incoming offer, and assuming he wants to, he returns to Chelsea.

The Evening Standard report that, following the arrival of Ross Barkley one of the kids, Charly Musonda, could be off on a short term loan. Bournemouth have expressed an interest, and their coach Eddie Howe, was at Portsmouth last night watching the young Belgian grab a brace as they progressed into the quarter finals of the EFL Trophy.

With Chelsea on the lookout for a left sided wingback to support Marcos Alonso, Spanish news outlet, Don Balon claim that Real Madrid are keen to replace Marcelo and see Alonso as a perfect fit for Zinedine Zidane`s Madrid side. Let`s be honest though, that is just not happening.

It seems players are not too interested in moving in mid-season and does bring into doubt the need to have a January window at all. Two players looking to stay where they are, are, Arturo Vidal who has said in an article carried in The Daily Express that his only concentration is with Bayern Munich. When asked if he was aware of a possible move Vidal said,

`Yes, I’ve heard about it, but I’m fully focused on the season with Bayern and I’m only looking day-to-day.`

So that`s another deal dead in the water. Someone else, who`s said he`s not about to move, only has a tenuous link to Chelsea, that being Lorenzo Pellegrini. The Roma striker has been in good form for the club he only joined in the summer and like Vidal is keen to stay put for now. Not much doing there either.

Hopefully, there will be more news to report tomorrow at 10pm.
