After suffering the pain of defeat out in Japan, the squad now have to sit around twiddling their thumbs.

The intention of starting the long flight back to London, almost immediately after the game, has been kyboshed by the Japanese authorities refusing to lift the late night flying restrictions, meaning that Chelsea cannot start the long journey home until tomorrow.

The result being that they will not get back to London until Tuesday afternoon and with a Capital One Cup quarter-final against Leeds United, at Eland Road, on Wednesday evening, there are fears that Rafa the ‘interim` Gaffer will be forced to field a shadow side.

Thanks for nothing should be our departing words when we leave the Land of the Rising Sun!
