Reports in the media this morning carry very worrying overtones.

It is being suggested by the tabloid publication, Daily Star, which has picked up on something published by the Spanish new source Diario Gol that Eden Hazard will be leaving Chelsea Football Club in the summer of 2018.

Our referenced sources are insinuating that Eden will up sticks and join the Spanish giants, Real Madrid.

Furthermore, our sources are inferring that Real Madrid are in advanced negotiations with the 29-year-old player with Zinedine Zidane, Hazard`s footballing idol, telling the Real Madrid president, Florentino Perez, he wants the jewel in our crown.

Now it may all be speculative journalism from some sections of the media, but it could also be a case of no smoke without fire.

As an aside, I asked a fellow Chelsea supporter what his thoughts would be if Hazard were to leave, his reply kind of summed it up with my work colleague suggesting we`d probably be as good as Stoke without our jewel-in-the-crown, a bit harsh perhaps but I`m sure you get his drift.
