Eden Hazard has been speaking about his future whilst on international duty. It`s been a theme that has continued throughout the season as Chelsea struggle to keep up with his aspirations.

According to The Guardian, Hazard won`t be entering into contract negotiations with Chelsea just yet.

“Look, I`m going to finish the season first, then play the World Cup and then I`ll leave on holiday,” Hazard said. “We`ll see what happens next. I haven`t thought about it yet; I have another two years` contract with Chelsea. I am very happy. I just think about the end of the season and the World Cup.”

Hazard is correct. With two years remaining on his current deal, he`ll be going nowhere this summer unless Chelsea want to sell him on. We`ve seen clubs like Leicester hold onto Riyad Mahrez despite his desire to leave. With so much cash sloshing around, the power is returning to the clubs.

Of course the rumours surrounding Hazard continue. Spanish tittle-tattle specialists Don Balon believe Manchester City have made contact with the Belgians representatives about a possible move to the Etihad. Unsurprisingly, it says Pep Guardiola is a big fan. Having missed out on Alexis Sanchez in January the article assumes Hazard is now another option.

Don Balon also claim Cristiano Ronaldo is likely to stay at the Bernabeu next season, further complicating Hazard’s on/off move to Madrid. With Neymar expected to leave his holding club PSG, in the near future, Hazard may become superfluous to their plans anyway.
