This Sunday, with the kick-off set for 16:00 hours, Chelsea will be taking on Manchester United, at Stamford Bridge, in a Premier League fixture.

This lunchtime, Guus Hiddink held his pre-match press conference ahead of the huge fixture.

Now whilst Hiddink’s press conferences might not be as entertaining and controversial as those presided over by Jose Mourinho, the Dutchman does give out some useful information.

Two subjects that caught our attention this lunchtime were comments relating to Oscar and Pato.

Starting with Oscar, Hiddink played down the speculation that appeared on the back pages of one tabloid this morning suggesting that a side from the Chinese Super League had offered Chelsea £57.5 million for the Brazilian.

Speaking about the situation Guus explained that Chelsea had no knowledge of any interest from China.

However, when pressed on the subject of China starting to flex it’s financial muscles and bringing in some talented players, Guus remarked,

‘It’s a concern, they are serious about getting into international football but it’s not just about buying big stars.

‘They need to bring in qualified people and have academies.’

Continuing, Hiddink was asked about Chelsea’s latest recruit, Alexandre Pato, and whether he will feature against Manchester United, with Guus replying,

‘No.

‘Pato is in his pre-season, he’s doing a training plan most days at least twice

‘He’s not at full fitness yet.’

Interesting! I wonder how long it will be before he is fit enough to be considered.
