Huge Shock As Chelsea Legend Linked With High-Profile First Managerial Role

|

The gap between success and failure is a narrow one.

Back in May, Aston Villa, with John Terry in the side, lost the Championship Play-Off Final to our near neighbours Fulham.

For a club as huge as Aston Villa and with such an illustrious history, it was a bitterly disappointing blow, for their manager Steve Bruce, their loyal supporters and everyone at the club.

This season, the Villains haven’t started the season well and yesterday, as a consequence, Steve Bruce was axed.

The Championship club are now left with a vacant position to fill and will be looking for the right candidate to, possibly, take them to the promised-land that is the Premier League.

Lurking in the pages of the popular tabloid publication, the Sun, is the suggestion that John Terry may make a sensational return to Villa Park, but as the new manager of the club as opposed to being on the playing staff.

Here at Vital Chelsea, whilst we’d welcome seeing John being given a chance to make those first steps into a managerial role, we have reservations as to whether it is the right move to make.

People may, in trying to back up a possible appointment, point to how well John’s close friend, Frank Lampard, is doing at Derby County.

But, we’d point out that Frank had time to put his own print on the squad by taking the job in the summer, John will not have that luxury, he’d have to stick with the squad he has inherited, at least until the January transfer window opens.

Or view, in concluding this article, is that John, whilst having an affection for the club after spending last season with them, might find it wise to wait until another appointment comes along, perhaps something not quite as high-profile as this one.

But, that’s only our view, please feel free to drop yours into the comments facility beneath this article.
