Hugely Talented Young Chelsea International Could Have Ended Up Somewhere Other Than Stamford Bridge

|

Today, a player who is tipped to go a long way in the sport has reached a milestone.

Ethan Ampadu is today celebrating his eighteenth birthday.

Although not a regular in the Chelsea side, Ampadu is already a mainstay of the Welsh side, managed by Ryan Giggs.

Now whether he does make the grade at Chelsea or falls by the wayside like so many others, remains to be seen.

However, it appears that Chelsea pulled off something of a coup when they managed to persuade the teenager to move to Stamford Bridge, from Exeter City.

According to the local north-west media source, the Manchester Evening News, Ethan could quite easily have ended up on the books of Manchester United with our referenced source remarking that Sir Alex Ferguson was keen to sign the player when he saw him in action in a junior tournament, aged just 12.

But, with Ethan not getting a chance to shine in the Premier League with Chelsea, just yet, there is the possibility that he may be allowed to go out on loan once the January transfer window opens.

If that is the case, then Cardiff City could well be a possible destination.

At his pre-match press conference, the Cardiff City boss, Neil Warnock, inferred he would be more than willing to take the teenager on loan, remarking to the assembled hacks:

“I will be speaking to somebody at Chelsea about one or two things.

“I think they should loan him to us and I could help him as well.

“He doesn’t look out of place. What I like about him is that he is so confident.”

So, what’s the verdict?

Would a spell in South Wales, with Cardiff City, be beneficial for the youngster?

Your thoughts on the subject matter in our comments facility would be most welcome.
